A global infrastructure provider specializing in high-capacity subsea cable systems is seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure at its Boca Raton Station.
This role involves hands-on technical work in a 24x7x365 rotating shift environment, supporting both capacity and data transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in telecom infrastructure, a solid understanding of optical transport technologies, and the ability to perform fieldwork along submarine cable routes and terrestrial segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain transmission and infrastructure systems at the Boca Raton Station
Provide on-call support for corrective and preventive maintenance along the submarine cable route (BMH), terrestrial paths to Jacksonville, and Points of Presence (PoPs) in Boca Raton and Miami
Collaborate with internal NOCs and global operations teams to ensure service continuity and fast incident resolution
Utilize corporate monitoring and management tools (Team/VC4) for network oversight and fault analysis
Supervise contractor activities and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards
Conduct regular inspections of cable routes to identify and mitigate risks to service availability
Perform telecom and infrastructure equipment installations, including racks, cards, fiber, and electrical components
Qualifications:
Experience in telecom infrastructure operations and vendor oversight
Knowledge of submarine cable systems, DWDM transport technologies, and optical transmission
Familiarity with AC/DC power systems, cooling units, rectifiers, and related subsystems
Proficient in telecom installation standards and best practices
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
Availability to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays (24x7x365 support model)
