Overview:
We are searching for a driven and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team! In this role, you’ll have the chance to work across departments, manage critical financial reporting, and support our company's continued success. From handling monthly reports to owning the entire fixed assets process, you’ll play an integral part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly. We are searching for a driven and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team! In this role, you’ll have the chance to work across departments, manage critical financial reporting, and support our company's continued success. From handling monthly reports to owning the entire fixed assets process, you’ll play an integral part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, has a keen eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute engaging weekly and monthly financial reports to keep the team informed and on track.
- File state sales tax returns and manage monthly/quarterly sales and use tax processes.
- Take ownership of the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled accurately and on time.
- Oversee the fixed assets process, from collecting approval documentation to capitalizing assets in SAP.
- Provide crucial support for year-end audits and act as a backup for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams.
- Ensure compliance by following accounting policies and procedures, while keeping up with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Safeguard financial information by regularly backing up databases and maintaining confidentiality.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and continue to grow by participating in ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a solid understanding of ERP systems (SAP experience is a big plus!).
- Advanced Excel skills are a must! You’ll need to be able to analyze data and create insightful reports.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
