The Senior Factory Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale factory and industrial construction projects from concept through commissioning. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards, while coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of factory and industrial construction projects, including new builds, expansions, and major renovations.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee all phases of construction: design coordination, procurement, site mobilization, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and internal leadership.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, MEP, automation, and production equipment vendors.
- Lead project meetings, status updates, and executive reporting.
- Monitor project costs and forecasts; approve change orders and manage scope changes.
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to contract terms and negotiated agreements.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
- Enforce quality control standards and conduct site inspections.
- Manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals.
- Select, negotiate, and manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Review bids, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation.
- Resolve conflicts and claims efficiently to maintain project momentum.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 10+ years of construction project management experience, with a strong focus on industrial, hotel/spa, or factory facilities.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects ($20M+ preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling (CPM), budgeting, and cost controls.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or LEED.
- Experience with manufacturing environments, clean rooms, automation, or heavy industrial systems.
- Familiarity with design-build and EPC project delivery models.
- Experience working in fast-paced, operational manufacturing environments.
