Project Accountant

Salary: $95,000
Project Accountant will be responsible for the billing and subcontractor and project payable process of the projects and responsible for tracking the financial progress of projects through reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with company and client contractual and compliance guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up and maintains a separate electronic network “Project Folder” for each assigned job and files all documents including owner documents, owner change orders, billings, check copies, etc.
- Inputs contract information and budgets into ComputerEase.
- Inputs change orders, Material Purchase orders, purchase orders, and sub mods into ComputerEase.
- Prepares project billing worksheet to provide to Project Manager to prepare monthly AIA billings.
- Generates AIA billings to the owners.
- Reviews and approves all job-related check requests.
- Processes all accounts payable as it relates to job-related invoices.
- Reviews overhead statements to ensure that all job-related invoices are in and ready to be paid.
- Prepares the Project Accountant Checklist on a weekly basis and submits to CFO and Controller.
- Posts all monthly activity timely for the month end close for Accounts Receivable and Payable.
- Attends all monthly project review and close out meetings for all assigned jobs.
- Works on special projects for accounting, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 2-3 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR A GENERAL CONTRACTOR ON COMMERCIAL PROJECTS (Preferably restaurants)
- Must be proficient in Excel (i.e. able to create spreadsheets, pivot tables, formulas, including lookup and index functions, etc.).
- Must be proficient in Word.
- Must be proficient in ComputerEase.
- Knowledge of Procore a plus.
