Senior Planner
Location: Miramar, FL (Hybrid flexibility may be considered)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000 per year
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a dynamic and impactful Planning & Development Department. This key leadership role will be responsible for managing complex planning assignments, supervising planners, and coordinating work across departments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in urban and regional planning, site development, and capital improvement project coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate planning assignments, ensuring timely and accurate project completion.
Supervise and mentor a team of planners, providing guidance and oversight on various planning initiatives.
Prepare and review site plans for residential and commercial developments.
Manage the processing of home site applications, land use maps, and set-aside applications.
Coordinate property access, rights-of-way establishment, and rural lot access considerations.
Collaborate with GIS teams to develop web applications visualizing Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) progress from concept through closeout.
Develop 3D models for facility management use by end-user departments.
Conduct home site research and allocation across multiple reservations.
Ensure collaboration with other departments to support the planning and development process.
Perform daily tasks with independence and demonstrate initiative in managing complex projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree and/or AICP certification preferred).
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in urban and regional planning or a related field (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software (GISP certification preferred).
Experience in developing Capital Improvement Plans is strongly preferred.
Supervisory or team leadership experience is desired.
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and related planning and design software.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
