Position Summary
The Middle School ELA Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that enhance students' reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic classroom environment, use innovative teaching strategies, and foster a love for literature and language.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and school curriculum standards.
- Teach literature, grammar, composition, vocabulary, and critical reading skills to middle school students.
- Utilize differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.
- Integrate technology and interactive learning strategies to enhance instruction.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth and success.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid Florida teaching certification in English Language Arts or a related subject or Statement of Eligibility
- Prior teaching experience at the middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of middle school literacy instruction and best practices.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and create an engaging learning environment.
