Logistics Manager – Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) & Compliance

Position Overview
A well-established company in Doral is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager with strong Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) expertise to oversee FTZ operations, customs compliance, and transportation activities. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while managing the efficient flow of domestic and international shipments.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of logistics experience, including direct FTZ operations, and experience leading teams and working closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, ensuring strict compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
Supervise and support FTZ Coordinators, ensuring accurate documentation, inventory control, and reporting.
Serve as the main point of contact with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, HTS classification, and customs documentation.
Oversee domestic and international transportation, optimizing freight routes and controlling costs.
Monitor FTZ inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, and manage zone admissions and removals.
Partner with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure proper handling of FTZ-designated goods.
Lead logistics improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and compliance.
Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with transportation providers.
Maintain and audit FTZ records, reports, and CBP filings.
Utilize ERP/WMS systems (SAP or similar) for tracking and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with Purchasing, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, and other internal teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 7 years of logistics experience, with at least 3 years in a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environment.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of FTZ regulations and U.S. Customs compliance (required).
Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation carriers.
Proven leadership experience managing teams.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP/WMS systems preferred.
Background in medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare logistics is a plus.
