Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solar / Renewable Energy Procurement Manager to lead procurement strategy and execution for utility-scale solar and renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for critical equipment, materials, and services while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate brings strong procurement leadership combined with deep knowledge of renewable energy supply chains, market dynamics, and sustainability best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategies for solar panels, inverters, energy storage systems (batteries), racking, balance-of-system components, and related services.
Source, evaluate, and manage supplier and manufacturer relationships to ensure competitive pricing, high quality, and reliable delivery schedules.
Lead contract negotiations with EPC firms, OEMs, manufacturers, logistics providers, and service vendors for large-scale renewable projects.
Monitor global supply chain trends, tariffs, trade policies, and geopolitical risks impacting renewable energy procurement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Legal, and Finance teams to align procurement with project schedules and budgets.
Ensure compliance with ESG goals, sustainability standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Implement and continuously improve procurement processes, cost models, supplier performance metrics, and risk mitigation strategies.
Support long-term supplier partnerships and framework agreements to enable scalability and cost optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, including 3–5 years in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, or construction.
Strong working knowledge of solar PV systems, energy storage technologies, and renewable energy project development.
Proven experience negotiating and managing multimillion-dollar contracts.
Familiarity with EPC contracting models and utility-scale project delivery.
Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP are a plus.
Excellent analytical, financial modeling, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with multiple concurrent projects.
