ESE Coordinator & Support Specialist
Location: Miami, FL
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually

About the Role
Join this non-profit team as an ESE Coordinator & Support Specialist. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and overseeing all matters related to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering strong collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). In addition to these responsibilities, you’ll serve as a flexible instructional resource, acting as a permanent substitute teacher as needed, and supporting various school administrative functions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative & Compliance Support
  • Provide organizational and administrative support for the Academy’s operations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion of reports and data management for Early Learning Preschool (ages 1–4) and Early Elementary (K–3) programs.
  • Maintain all records related to IEPs and ensure compliance with IDEA, ADA, and MDCPS requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, instructional staff, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Academy Director on reporting requirements for grants and contracts (ELC, MDCPS, Early Steps, CDBG, TCT, DBS, etc.).
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing assignments and departmental needs.
  • Instructional Support
  • Serve as the Academy’s on-call permanent substitute teacher across all grade levels and subjects.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to integrate differentiated instructional strategies and adapt the general education curriculum for ESE students.
  • Implement specialized instructional methods and targeted interventions to support students’ academic and behavioral development.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction for students with ESE needs as required.
  • Mentor and coach teachers on effective strategies for working with students who have diverse learning needs.
  • Assess the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies to improve student outcomes.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate in ESE (or eligible for certification).
  • Completion of the Department of Children & Family Child Care Training required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a coordinator or leadership role.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, ADA, and IEP compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn agency databases.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and a student-centered approach.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and ability to travel as needed.
