About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven Controller with Commercial Retail experience to lead the financial operations for a vibrant, high-traffic retail property in Miami. This is more than just a number-crunching role — you’ll play a key part in the success and profitability of an iconic commercial space in Miami filled with shopping, dining, and entertainment.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage all accounting and finance functions for a multi-tenant commercial retail property.
- Oversee financial reporting including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Build and maintain robust internal controls and clear financial reporting structures.
- Partner with property management, leasing teams, and ownership stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and improve performance.
- Monitor capital project expenditures and ensure budgets are on track.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and financial analysts.
- Handle audit preparation, tax filings, and compliance in collaboration with external and internal partners.
- Provide high-level strategic financial guidance to leadership.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- At least 8 years of progressive finance experience in property or retail accounting.
- Minimum 3 years in a senior-level or Controller role leading accounting teams.
- Direct experience managing finances for retail environments such as malls, lifestyle centers, or restaurant portfolios.
- Advanced knowledge of property management accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or JDE.
- Strong command of GAAP and real estate-specific accounting practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A solid grasp of CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, lease abstracts, and retail property budgeting.
- A proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
