About the Client:
We have partnered with a Miami-based growing Private Credit and Private Equity firm that manages a family of funds and is looking to bring on a COO to grow and develop the business. The business is going through a growth phase and the COO will be of vital support in the development of the business and the reinforcement of a culture of excellence, kindness, responsiveness, innovation, and collaborative teamwork.
About the Role:
The role entails representing partners with a strong team spirit, understanding the company's history and growth opportunities, and supporting a clear strategic plan for Operations and Compliance across affiliated investment vehicles. This individual will grasp the Four Pillars of the Organization (Investor Cultivation, Deals, and Portfolio Oversight, Operations/Compliance, and Team and Culture) to propose well-structured plans, budgets, timelines, and staff allocations for optimal output and service quality in each pillar.
They will also lead in executing the Operations, Compliance, and Culture/Team building Pillars, collaborating closely with partners to establish milestones and staffing plans for the remaining two pillars. Our objectives for Operations and Compliance include top-tier programs, monthly partner reports on KPI progress, and fostering a modern, transparent, collaborative, and innovative team environment. This individual will play a crucial role in upholding and promoting this culture.
Responsibilities of COO:
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Partner for firm management.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including Operations, Compliance, and Team and Culture.
- Ensure SEC compliance, operational excellence, and human capital development.
- Preferably have Private Equity or Private Credit experience.
- Focus on leading a collaborative team with efficient processes.
- Serve as Chief Compliance Officer.
Specific Responsibilities:
Compliance:
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including SEC reporting.
- Collaborate on robust compliance and operational systems.
- Anti-Money Laundering policy enforcement.
Risk:
- Fulfill operational risk procedures, including insurance management.
Team and Culture:
- Propose and implement annual, quarterly, and monthly plans.
Investor Relations:
- Support fund investor relationships and IR strategy.
- Manage DDQ and RFP requests.
- Assist in marketing efforts.
Financial Planning/Accounting:
- Work closely with CFO for high-quality financial services.
- Manage insurance policies.
- Review legal documentation and operational models.
IT, Cybersecurity, and Data Management:
- Maintain systems and oversee outsourcing relationships.
- Ensure cybersecurity and manage data and analytics.
Other Tasks:
- Assist in staff management and corporate culture development.
- Handle company secretarial matters and Directorships.
- Participate in change management projects.
